New appointment reinforces plans to scale and strengthen local US team to deliver IEEE 5G mmWave wireless solutions to security and defense markets.
Blu Wireless, the leader in 5G mmWave networking equipment, today announced that Deb Oliver has been appointed as new non-Executive Director and member of the Board of Directors for the new US arm of the business.
Deb has over three decades of experience working in an industry that partners directly with the US Government to deliver mission critical solutions into key governmental departments. She held senior positions as Vice President at Lockheed Martin, Chief Operating Officer at Vencore and President and CEO of Seagate Government Solutions. In her new role she will be working closely with the Board and President of Blu Wireless Inc. on strategic initiatives aimed at aligning the company’s innovative IEEE 5G technology with the US government needs and procurement structure.
The US Department of Defense’s Digital Modernization program designed to operationalize data highlights the critical role 5G will play in future strategic initiatives. “5G will be critical in the network architecture to bring connectivity to the edge. But there’s a big gap in how to connect military IoT applications,” explains Deb. “Blu Wireless offers solutions that provide robust and covert gigabit edge processing for communication networking across IoT for the military. I believe this is a strong competitive advantage and addresses the needs of the US Government. I’m extremely excited and honored to be able to support the Blu Wireless US entity as a board member as we deliver the benefits of IEEE 5G to the US Government.”
As former CEO and COO, Deb has a strong track record of corporate transformations as well as overseeing subsidiaries to mitigate FOCI (Foreign, Ownership, Control or Influence). With an impressive background of delivering business transitions and expansions she will be taking an active role in driving business growth in key markets such as security and defense.
“Deb’s extensive experience in driving operational change and scaling up businesses will be invaluable as we look to grow our US and international business,” comments Alan Jones, CEO, Blu Wireless. “We know there is a keen focus in the US Government to partner with commercial, innovative companies and I am truly delighted to have Deb on board to bring our groundbreaking technology into highly visible proofs of concept that can be extended across the defense services.”
