Building the future of tactical communications: A 2025 vision
by Macy Summers

Expanding our global presence
As we head full throttle into 2025, it is already shaping up to be a critical year for working with our partners in the defense sectors. Blu Wireless’ product mix is expanding to meet evolving market demands and we’re seeing unprecedented customer alignment with mmWave technology for next-generation tactical and special operations. The Blu Wireless Defense team is expanding to enhance our worldwide marketing efforts and we expect to add additional technical support capabilities throughout 2025. This strategic expansion reflects our deep understanding that force protection will remain critical and urgent in tomorrow’s defense landscape.
Our forward-looking commitment to working closely with customers and partners ensures that the Blu Wireless mmWave equipment will continue to be tailored to each application’s needs, meeting both current requirements and future growth ambitions. What sets us and our work in 2025 apart is our ability to deliver high-quality, quick-to-deploy, advanced security networks that can be customized for even the most volatile environments.
Breakthrough product innovations

In 2025 we are looking forward to announcing new mmWave products for drone communications and autonomous military vehicles, which are set to revolutionize the tactical communications landscape. This is to add to our handheld terminal flagship development in 2024, Umbra. Our PhantomBlu portfolio of products are made of the following: Umbra, Ensemble, Sky and Titan and will be available to customers at the beginning of the second quarter of this year. This product breadth rounds out and extends our product line from engineering prototypes and demonstration models to volume production, positioning us to address emerging tactical needs for ground and airborne forces.

Our breakthrough 360° Tactical Vehicle Node exemplifies this advancement, enabling dynamic mesh networking that delivers multi-gigabit speeds to the tactical edge. In contrast to commercial networks, our tactical systems are standalone, secure, and can be easily interfaced with existing tactical equipment while remaining resistant to single point failure.
For drone operations during the year to come, our mmWave mesh connectivity provides unprecedented bandwidth capabilities, delivering hundreds of Gbits per second depending on range. This high-speed connectivity transforms reconnaissance capabilities, allowing missions to be extended while transferring massive amounts of data swiftly and securely. These capabilities make drones a cost-effective alternative to manned reconnaissance vehicles while delivering high-resolution imagery and critical intelligence data.
Advancing PhantomBlu technology
Blu Wireless will continue to work with defense OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and Systems Integrators (SIs) in the US, Europe and Asia to go to market where Low Probability of Detection (LPD), high bandwidth and mesh communications on the move are in demand. Current European defense conditions have further cemented the need to provide LPD tactical and special operations communications which are essential to deliver the element of surprise and survivability. Only the Blu Wireless PhantomBlu mmWave wireless networking can provide this triad of features at commercial scale and competitive pricing. As we look towards 2025 and beyond, we’re excited to expand our market penetration beyond US and European launch customers and to work with world class SIs solving their hardest tactical wireless networking challenges.

Our PhantomBlu technology will continue to deliver ten times the data rate compared to Wi-Fi and 5G on the move, while requiring just 10% of the power consumption of alternative offerings. This revolutionary SWaP profile represents a game-changing advantage for tactical deployments, setting a new standard for battlefield communications in 2025. This sophisticated solution supports tactical connectivity between vehicles on land, at sea, or in the air, with real-time wireless digital signal processing methods that minimize co-channel interference. The system features encryption and advanced full mesh application software, providing built-in flexibility that allows customers to configure connections for various applications.
Strengthening our defense market team
Looking ahead to 2025, Blu Wireless will continue to expand our defense market team first in sales and marketing and with additional staff in customer technical support. This continued growth aligns with our commitment to delivering holistic communications programs that address the complexities of tomorrow’s high-speed tactical communications.
A clear vision for 2025
Blu Wireless mmWave for defense is growing and I can see a bright future for our customers, employees and shareholders. The year 2025 will be transformative for the execution of our product and partnering strategy. Our roadmap to 10 times higher data rate performance ensures we’re not just meeting today’s needs but anticipating tomorrow’s challenges. With our scalable tactical communications capability, changing requirements for data rates, vehicle speed and network nodes can all be dynamically driven, providing unparalleled operational advantage and optimized safety for our customers.
